  • Case Study - Access Consultancy for a Large Retail Development

    Human Engineering was commissioned to act as the access consultant to the lead architects and developers for the Westfield London Shopping Centre, the largest urban area indoor shopping centre in Europe. Our role as access consultants was to aid our client to design a space which was accessible to all, with a particular focus on disabled people and the elderly.

  • Case Study - Accessibility of a Switchboard Enquiry Service

    The Welsh Assembly Government decided to combine their Cathays Park Switchboard with the Assembly Library and Publications Service to bring together the services the public use “when they don’t know who to contact” for telephone and publication enquiries respectively. Human Engineering Limited was engaged to carry out an accessibility assessment of their consolidated telephone switchboard and enquiry services.

  • Assessing the Standard of Communications within the Rail Industry

    As part of the rail industry’s R&D programme Human Engineering were tasked to evaluate the standard of safety critical communications. The research had a particular focus upon identifying areas in which the standards of communications could be improved and how the communication protocols and formalisations mandated in the Rule Book could be used to promote safe and effective communication between rail staff.
