Therefore, the consideration of human-related factors that affect the performance of personnel is paramount to safe and efficient port, harbour and terminal operation.
In addition, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of vessel traffic management, the operational environment must be designed around the needs of the user and the consideration of their physical and cognitive capabilities.
